Manta Expeditions to Koh Bon.
Manta Point in Khao Lak is the first dive center to specialize in Manta Expeditions to Koh Bon, besides the Similan day trips and Similan dive safaris (liveaboards).
Since 1999 we effectively undertook Manta Expeditions as day trips and dive safaris with a very high success rate of Manta sightings.
Because of the prevailing sea currents which carry plankton rich water, the mantas have chosen the southern tip of this island as a feeding place.
The biggest chance to encounter Manta Rays is at Koh Bon from October to May. Even some whale sharks are sighted in this period.
The good visibility also allows for snorklers to share in this spectacular experience. Many times Mantas have been sighted in shallow waters or directly under the surface, upstaging our cook on board during surface intervals.
Our programme includes a minimum of three manta expeditions per week as a day trip. Koh Bon is also an integral part of almost all our dive safaris.

Manta Point:
"The best dive of my life was at Koh Bon at the "Manta Point" with 3 Mantas on close interval for a whole 65 minutes and a cameraman who delivered evidence for my concerted loops with one of the three friends."
